Mrs. Tejiri Jarju

Artist, Research, Founder & Group CEO of GANYEH MHDC

Tejiri Jarju discovered her creative power on the campuses of Rutgers University (New Brunswick) and The Illustrious North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University (NCAT). After receiving her Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies with a Concentration in Africana & African American Studies from NCAT, she went off into the world of creative freelancing.

During her time as a creative contractor, she worked with independent business owners and prominent institutions such as the National Center for Arts and Culture (The Gambia), The Embassy of the Republic of The Gambia in the United States (District of Columbia), and America's Favorite Financial Educator, Tiffany Aliche - The Budgetnista.
When Mrs. Jarju isn't creating art or leading teams to develop a hand-picked batch of African-led and mission-based organizations, she is contributing designs to her family’s fashion house and serving as the Director of Creative Media Production at the Silicon Valley African Film Festival

At GANYEH

Tejiri leads the overall direction of the Group and keeps the three subsidiaries moving as one company rather than three separate ideas.

She also leads the thinking behind GANYEH’s investment thesis and research agenda, including the larger question of how Africa’s creative economy can translate into stronger businesses, better income opportunities, ownership and long-term economic participation.

Artist Statement

My mission is to help the viewer remember or, affirm their intrinsic truths and aid in the evasion of emotional amnesia that comes from engaging with the exhaustingly loud, man-made world of distractions, convenience, and ingenuity.
